No project has been submitted by the mall owners. The City of Capitola is exploring potential redevelopment possibilities for the Capitola Mall property. A prior submittal in 2019 that many in the community provided input on is no longer viable due to considerable changes in the retail landscape since then. If a project is to move forward, we believe that meaningful projects start with meaningful conversations, which is why we are participating in the City led zoning code amendment process and we are reaching out to the community now, before any formal plans exist. Your voice will help shape what this special place could become.
